This is not a full-time position, but Chris Lascelles is now certified in the 6-piece, so he is eligible, job-ready and motivated for a full-time income.

My name is Danielle Ritchie, and I’ve successfully completed the Skills Ready program in 2018. As part of the program, myself with other band members, had the opportunity to job shadow with two supplying partners at Bruce Power(E.S Fox & EMC). We had detailed walk down tours of both Bruce A & Bruce B, as well as a whole site tour within the area. It was very interesting to see all aspects of operations, both in and out of the plant areas. We received our 5 year security clearance and orange badge qualification for Bruce Power while being enrolled with the Skilled Ready program offered though H.A.A.M.B. I would highly recommend this program for those looking to advance their career within the nuclear industry if your interests are in the skilled trades or to get their basic qualifications the company is looking for when employment opportunities arise. I am currently employed full time with Bruce Power as a Teamster. My role as a Teamster is to perform the loading, unloading, receiving & documentation of materials & equipment within Bruce B. I would like to thank the staff at H.A.A.M.B and their associated partners for making this opportunity happen for me!

I came across the Skills Ready Program offered at Georgian College that had a prospect of a job placement at Bruce Power. I wasn’t sure about what skills I would learn or what upgrading was needed but I was in a situation to take advantage of the program benefits. The HAAMB program provided many incentives; such as financial support, commuting to school, QUALITY instructors; all leading to my success. The experience and learning through this program was a very positive and memorable. During my time in the program, I met with several representatives from Bruce Power and their supplier partners. I gained an understanding of the companies and placement opportunities, the roles and responsibilities and what it took to be successful and work at Bruce Power. After completing the upgrading program, I was successful in finding a placement with E.S Fox, a Bruce Power construction services supplier, leading to my full-time employment. I strongly recommend this program to anyone that wishes to upgrade or has aspirations of working with Bruce Power or a Supplier in the future. With hard work and perseverance, anything is attainable.
